Mary Toves

President

As Advance Management, Inc. President, Mary Toves handles the day-to-day operations of our company. Using a "hands-on" approach, Ms. Toves has consistently excelled in her ability to manage and direct personnel.

Toves started in the industry at the Pacific Islands Club, where she began working as a housekeeper Toves moved to SunRoute Hotel in 1989, where within a year she advanced to Assistant Supervisor.

In 1992, Ms. Toves joined AMI, where she rose from Janitorial Supervisor to Assistant General Manager.

She has represented AMI at the Cleaning Management Institute Conference in Chicago.

 

Monty A. McDowell

Chief Executive Officer, Principal Real Estate Broker

Monty A. McDowell is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Real Estate Broker for Advance Management, Inc.

McDowell founded AMI in 1990, after serving for twenty-two years in the U.S. Navy as an Engineering Duty Officer and earning a master's degree in electrical engineering. McDowell's extensive engineering experience and organizational skills were key in the development of AMI's operational efficiency. In his twenty years at AMI, McDowell has demonstrated again and again that he possesses the expertise to pre-plan, implement and maintain even the most complex maintenance and management requirements.

McDowell is a Registered Executive Housekeeper, as designated by the International Executive Housekeeping Association (IEHA).

McDowell has served on the Board of the Directors for the Guam Chamber of Commerce and has previously served as Chairman of the Committee for Government of Guam Outsourcing & Privatization and Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee on DOD Contracting.

 

Jim McFerran

Director of Business Development

McFerran brought extensive private sector experience to AMI, including thirteen years of business management in the yacht building industry. Prior to his current tenure with AMI, McFerran performed hotel reviews in Australia, Nepal, the Philippines, and Korea before establishing Holiday Boats and growing the business to a 214-man, $3.5 million per year enterprise.

In his nineteen years with Advance Management, Inc., McFerran has been involved in all aspects of the company's operations. McFerran has served as Janitorial Division Manager, Landscape Maintenance Division Manager, and was involved in Planning and Project Management before serving as Director of Business Development.

McFerran attended the Cleaning Management Institute Conference in Chicago. McFerran has been formally trained in the fields of Carpet Upholstery Maintenance and Advanced Care of Natural Stone. He is an IEHA Certified Executive Housekeeper.

 

Bree McDowell

Realtor & Real Estate Services Manager

Bree McDowell developed and established Advance Management's Real Estate Services Department, building a two-client list into a diverse clientele that now includes commercial buildings, homeowners' associations, apartment buildings, and numerous individual single tenant homes.

As Realtor & Real Estate Services Manager, McDowell assists clients with the purchase or sale of their Guam-based property, and works hand-in-hand with the board members of various associations and organizations. She is readily available to provide owners and tenants of managed properties with assistance on all issues, including but not limited to:

  • Lease agreements
  • Maintenance Issues
  • Common Area Issues

Early in her career at AMI, McDowell served as Manager for AMI's Main Office, where she helped to establish AMI's Drug Free Workplace Program and Sexual Harassment Awareness Program.

McDowell currently serves as Vice President of the Guam Association of Realtors.

 

Anthony Guerrero

Janitorial Manager

Anthony Guerrero, through twelve years of exceptional experience, has risen through the AMI ranks and is now AMI's Janitorial Manager.

Guerrero began his career in the Industrial Janitorial Department, where he demonstrated the ability to follow directions and take command of tough situations as they arose. This ability to "take charge" demonstrated qualities necessary for management positions.

He has been the Janitorial Department Manager for 10 1/2 years and oversees 150 personnel as well as manages the day-to-day operations. Through his staff of Project Managers and Supervisors, he continuously and successfully manages AMI's largest department.

 

Gordon Tydingco

Operations Manager

An experienced member of our company's senior management team, Operations Manager Gordon Tydingco brings AMI over 25 years of extensive administrative and management experience, along with a 10-year background in sales and marketing for both the public and private sectors of Guam and Saipan.

Tydingco served for six years as Administrative Officer for the Transportation Division of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands in Saipan, after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. degree in History and Political Science. In his post, Tydingco was instrumental in establishing and administering the territory-wide Transportation Development Training Program, while providing overall staff support for personnel administration, budgeting and program development.

Tydingco returned to Guam in 1976, and has spent the past 34 years in various management capacities. Typdingco served as General Manager of the Guam Visitors Bureau for four years, where he was responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the Bureau's promotional and marketing programs and activities. Tydingco then served a six-year term as General Manager of Atlantis Submarine Guam, Inc., where he oversaw 40 technical and non-technical personnel on a 7-day, 12 hour work schedule, and directed the operation and maintenance of a 46-passenger tourist submarine.

He is presently a candidate for the IEHA Executive Housekeeper Certificate.

 

Marcello Graniel

Consolidated Services Manager

As the newly appointed Consolidated Services Manager, Marcello Graniel manages AMI's extensive Carpet and Floor Care Operations, as well as Grounds Maintenance and Special Projects, including Post Construction Cleanup.

With more than 15 years of Management and Sales experience throughout Guam and the U.S. mainland, Marcello Graniel also holds the title of Sales Director at AMI, overseeing all Falcon Waterfree Urinal sales, Sure Step Floor/Tub Non-Slip Treatment sales, and specialty services.

Graniel currently serves in the Guam Army National Guard. He also has prior active duty experience in the United States Army. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army in 1995, Graniel lived in Washington State, where he managed a marketing office of more than 20 staff personnel.

Graniel returned to Guam in 2006, where he began working as a Sales Executive for KUAM. In June of 2009, Graniel joined the AMI staff as Sales Director, where he took Sure Step sales to the top spot on the national level in March 2010. In July of 2011, Graniel was appointed as the current Consolidated Services Manager, a position he holds to date.

 

Joseph Certeza

Training Manager

With his comprehensive knowledge and experience in human resources and training, Joseph Certeza was the prime candidate to serve as Advance Management Inc.'s Training Manager.

Certeza's previous experience at AMI and Silicon Valley's Northern Telecom includes positions held as Parts Inventory Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor in Charge of Training, Quality Assurance Inspector, Office Manager, and Assistant Training Manager.

While Certeza retains primary duties as Training Manager, his responsibilities at AMI extend further. Certeza monitors our Quality Assurance Program, and ensures that operations are seamless within AMI's Administrative and Accounting Office.
